Description
Using concrete poetry as a starting point, I chose an extract (the climax) from the song 'Dogs' by Pink Floyd, performed by Roger Waters from his 'In the Flesh" DVD. I chose to interpret these clever lyrics very literally for my animation. The animation was created using Flash.

Description
My chosen response to this brief was to promote my skills as a designer and a drummer. This took the form of a typographical animation (using Flash) with my drumming as the soundtrack.

 

Only words that contain ‘act’ are used as I show the parallels between the two disciplines. The style of drumming reflects the words used. For example, ‘interact’ is represented using a drum pattern phrased like a question and answer to portray a conversation.

 

The position of the smaller text varies depending on the position of the larger text, creating a rhythm.
